No, the rent and deposit are fixed and non-negotiable.
Internet, landline telephone and TV installation and subscription are excluded from the rent and are the tenants responsibility.
Tenants normally arrange to share a single connection, as the service from Virgin Multimedia includes a broadband Wi-Fi router to allow for shared access. Contracts are normally 12 months, but 9 month contracts are available to registered students.
A bed and mattress are provided, but bedding and bed linen are not. Tenants will need to supply their own pillows, duvets, sheets, etc.
The en-suite bathrooms feature a electric shower, washbasin, toilet, heated towel rail, fitted mirror and are have an automatic extractor fan. A shower curtain, waste bin and toilet brush are provided. Towels and bathmats are not provided.
The rent does not include insurance. Should tenants wish to insure their possessions it is their responsibility to arrange and pay for insurance.
The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezers, kettle & toaster.
There is some shared crockery, cutlery, pans, and utensils.
No, the block and all its internal communal areas, including the apartment and its rooms are non-smoking.
There are ashtrays and a sheltered smoking area with seating in the communal garden area to the rear of the block.
There are two large covered bike racks in the communal garden area to the rear of the block, where you can lock up and store your bike.
Yes, all the communal areas of the apartment and the individual rooms have fitted smoke detectors that are part of the block fire and smoke alarm system. A fire blanket and ABC type powder extinguisher are also fitted in the kitchen area for tenants safety.
The bedrooms have: A 4ft divan bed & mattress, a large fitted desk with storage and an office chair, a chest of drawers, a fitted cupboard with hanging rail, wall mounted storage/display shelves and a wall mounted display board. There is a wall mounted independently controlled thermostatic electric heater, a three-way ceiling spotlight and a table lamp.
A vacuum cleaner, and mop and bucket are provided for tenants use.
It is the tenants responsibility to provide all other cleaning materials, and replace the vacuum cleaner bags.
